Calling All Animals

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-2-5-2014

A South African woman, Anna Breytenbach, who communicates telepathically with animals, recently turned a snarling leopard into a relaxed cat, blowing the mind of the keeper, who has worked with animals all his life and has already developed trusting relationships with lions and tigers (he plays with them). But, he confessed that he had never encountered anything remotely like this

Ugly is Beautiful

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-1-22-2014

A 24-year-old Texas woman named Lizzie suffers from a rare disease called Neonatal Progeroid Syndrome. This prevents her from gaining weight and she is blind in her right eye. One day she found a YouTube video of herself entitled "World's Ugliest Woman." Millions of people had watched it.

Imagine yourself in her shoes. What would you do? Here’s what she did. She turned ugly into beautiful by channeling that hatred into motivation and became a public speaker! She tells people how to kill negativity with ambition, how to redefine yourself on your own terms. She does Ted talks. She’s famous!

What an inspiration for the rest of us. Here’s someone who could have just rolled over and slunk into a dark corner for the rest of her life. Only two other people on the planet have her condition! We don’t know what they are doing but we do know what Lizzie is doing, inspiring others! What about us?

We all have to work with the cards we are dealt. Some of us are beautiful, some of us are ugly. We are smart, dumb, athletic, uncoordinated, etc. So what? Lizzie teaches us that what matters more than what you get is who you are, proven by how you play your hand.

Henson’s Heroes

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-1-9-2014

Henson’s Heroes are two kids in a Children’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. who inspire nurses and others to do good deeds by giving toys away. Caleb was born with brain and spinal cord problems. Raegan had a brain tumor.

They know how it feels to be in a hospital over Christmas and that’s what inspired them to start their program. For anyone like us who reads about it, there’s much more than toys being given. Here’s an example of what we can obviously call “the Christmas spirit” at work in a most unlikely way.

Science Confirms That We Are One!

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-post-unity

Best selling author Larry Dossey, MD, has been writing about oneness, not as a theory but as a fact. He recently posted on HuffPost: “Throughout history many eminent scientists have glimpsed this fact. This includes Nobel physicist Erwin Schrödinger, who proclaimed, "The overall number of minds is just one ... In truth there is only one mind." And the distinguished physicist David Bohm asserted, "Deep down the consciousness of mankind is one."

Money Well Spent

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-post-11-5-2013

Most of us deal with government incompetence by staring in disbelief at news reports. Not so for one billionaire hedge fund manager who has just donated $10 million to finance pre-school programs slated for suspension because of the government shutdown. This benefits about 7,000 children in six states.

Poison Water?

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

Blog-Post-10-29-2013-1

How often do we discover, as Robert Burns said, that “the best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray?” Researchers recently warned that some chemicals in pesticides, which end up in fruit and vegetables and are also used to purify tap water, may contribute to rising food allergies.

To Gift a Thief

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-1-29-2014

You may have heard about the woman in Oklahoma who was robbed in a grocery store, confronted the thief, and convinced him to give her wallet back… then bought his groceries.

He was thoroughly embarrassed and confessed that he was just trying to feed his own kids, that he was dead broke, and he apologized. Then he cried as she paid $27 for his groceries.

Jump Start

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-1-15-2014

A mechanic in Illinois is jump-starting frozen cars for free. Brad McKorical got the idea, saying that he just wanted to do some good in his community of Moline. One recipient of his generosity called him an angel.

An angel mechanic! That shows what matters to us and how we connect practical help with a divine source. But there’s a catch – he did it for free. It’s not so likely that a driver would refer to their tow truck driver as an angel if he over-charged her, which can happen. Brad did it to spread good.

The Tree of Generosity

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-1-3-2013

Imaginative citizens of Silver Spring, MD have reinvented the Christmas tree. For the second year they have transformed the traditional into the innovative by creating a Christmas tree some describe as “funky.”

This year their tree is built from toys and other found objects. 100%. After Christmas, when it’s taken apart, everything will be donated to a local nonprofit that helps families.

10 Steps to Gandhi

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

blog-12-4-2013

Thanks to Henrik Edberg from positivityblog.com for his favorite advice from Mahatma Gandhi. First, change yourself. Well, that’s where real change begins. As Gandhi said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” Next, you are in control. What did Gandhi say about this? “Nobody can hurt me without my permission.” That coming from someone who you might say got hurt, a lot. That’s an attitude that truly inspires.

Mow It, Own It

Written by Master Charles Cannon, Will Wilkinson

mow-it

A regular guy from South Carolina just mowed the lawn at the Lincoln Memorial. He wasn’t paid to do it. He explained that he considered the building to be a “moral compass” and himself a steward of it.
This while elected representatives in their overpaid incompetence have allowed the government to shut down, suspending services like cutting the lawn that this volunteer took care of. It begs the question: who’s the real leader?
