Who Would You Be Without Your Stories of Life?

Why would you want the fullness of life?  Why is the fullness of life preferred over the fantasy of life?  When I pose this question, I notice some of you are not comfortable, it makes you fidget, you can’t be still.  But if you are still, if you can open to it as an exploration, you’ll find that you’re not going die if you let go of your fantasy.

Invitation to be Wakeful

People are often confused.  Confusion is a natural state of being on this planet within human experience and confusion is the result of imbalance.  Furthermore, imbalance is the result of not truthfully understanding the nature of life.  We live in a relative reality.  There are always two polarities to our experience.

Truthful Communication

Much of what we say to others is strongly influenced by our desire either to appear magnanimous or to maintain the status quo in a relationship. It is not often that we actually speak the truth about what we are experiencing in the moment.

“I have met the builder and broken the ridgepole.
I shall not build that house again.”

~The Buddha, Upon His Awakening

Now what do you suppose the Buddha is really saying?  He is supposed to have said this upon his awakening.  After all, the word ‘Buddha’ means ‘awakened one’, so it is plausible that he would have said something along these lines.  Yet, from our modern perspective, what is he trying to convey?

The Ultimate Mastery of Human Experience

“Heaven means to be one with God.”
        ~Confucius

Everyone agrees that Confucius was a man of great wisdom.  This quotation is an example of his enlightening awareness.  For the people of his day, heaven was understood to be the place where one could be with God for all eternity.  It was not understood to be the experience of oneness with God.  In one little sentence, Confucius evolves the experience from dualism to holism.  This is the mark of the masters.  They delight in wholeness beyond all fragmentation.  They are anchored in holistic experience.

How to Actualize Your Subtle Dimensions

“Light is the first of painters.  There is no object so foul that intense light will not make it beautiful.”
                ~Emerson (1803-1882)

In the most ancient revelations, light is synonymous with consciousness.  In Sanskrit, the word Chit is translated as consciousness, yet it also means light.  Consciousness as light is awareness.  When it is said that existence is self-luminous, it means that it is self-aware.  Aware existence is consciousness and it is blissful within the awareness of itself existing.  So light is radiant unified being.  It is indeed the first of painters.  It is one consciousness as source.

Wakefulness

Written by Master Charles Cannon

wakefulness

Our experience of life, of existence, is only ever here and now.  If we are wakeful, the now is eternal.  There is only now, the now of consciousness, blissful consciousness in each nano-second of its happening.  So thus the importance of wakefulness!

Wakefulness is the basis of modern spiritual experience.  We must cultivate wakefulness, holistic wakefulness.  Can we be present in the here and now of life?  Can we be holistically aware that there is only one consciousness in the here and now of its happening

The True Messenger

As has been said in many traditions, consciousness itself, life itself, is innately joyful.  It is a blissful energy, a purposeless energy going nowhere for no reason.  It is contented, celebratory, and delighting in itself.  So if we are truly expressing the life that we are, the consciousness that all is, then we are expressing blissful consciousness.

Nothing Separate from Yourself

There’s a well-known quotation in the Zen tradition that is known to those who meditate and those who explore a more truthful experience of reality.    It is this:  ‘Kill the Buddha’ and it means to kill any concept of consciousness as something separate from yourself.

A year or so ago, I happened to see the Surgeon General of the United States presenting via the international media the statistics on substance abuse.  And they were specifically addressing mood altering prescription medications. Did you know that the United States consumes 90% of the world supply of Vicodin.  So what does that say about the American Dream?

Two Polarities of Belief

Written by Master Charles Cannon

Two-Polarities-of-Belief-small

Beliefs are the content of consciousness and the foundation of the experience that humans define as reality. Most life experience is illusory, not real. Until we realize this fact and discover how we created the dream we live, we believe the definitions that others have presented to us as true. But agreement in illusion does not make it true.

The Illusion of Challenge

“The ascent from earth to heaven is challenging.” ~Seneca (B.C. 3-65 A.D.)

This statement reveals a truthful perspective on life and should be contemplated as a metaphor for the evolution of consciousness within human experience.  Earth represents the dense dimensions and heaven the subtle dimensions.  The human evolution of consciousness from dense to subtle is indeed challenging

How to Experience Magic and Miracles in Daily Life

The Great Wisdom Traditions tell us, in one way or another, “There is only one.”  As a modern mystic, Master Charles says the same thing.  Intellectually, we can accept this, and yet, when we begin to see evidence of a more unified reality, we are baffled and may attempt to rationalize what we are experiencing.  Here is a recent example form a Synchronicity High-Tech meditator:

“The heart is wiser than the intellect”.

- Josiah Holland (1819 – 1881)

We often speak of the importance of creating balance in the physical, emotional and mental dimensions. Known as the denser dimensions, these three are the foundation upon which all our subtle dimensional experiences rest.
