"This Weekʼs Happiness Dialogue"
Kia Scherr is the co-founder of One Life Alliance. One Life Alliance is dedicated to raising the world’s peace index through collaborations with businesses, governments and bodies of education.
One Life Alliance was founded in response to the Mumbai terrorist attacks of 2008 that took the lives of co-founder Kia’s husband and 13 year old daughter. OLA’s mission is to counter-balance terrorism with love and compassion as a way to increase the peace index in the world. “We must honor the oneness and dignity of life in ourselves and in each other.”
This tragic event initiated a transformative journey for Kia, changing her from a housewife living in a spiritual sanctuary in Virginia to an international peace pilgrim, with homes in Washington, DC and Mumbai, India.
From a chapter Kia wrote for a recent book by Desmond Tutu:
“I have learned that forgiveness requires a deep level of acceptance of what has occurred. This does not mean agreement with or any kind of pardoning or condoning of the action that hurt us. It simply means acceptance of the reality of the situation and letting go of the incident, which cannot be changed. Once we accept, we can move forward to heal and continue loving no matter what. This acceptance brought me to an inner peace that cannot be shattered because in that peace is contained the essence of humanity. I am that essence. It is choice I make every day.
“We must respect the dignity of life in ourselves and in each other. I am now working with many others to insert this inclusive narrative into education, business and government and to implement projects that put this message into action. This will increase the peace quotient in individuals, communities and eventually, all nations.”

In addition to the Teleconference I want to invite you to take part in a unique social experiment that could change the way we value and experience happiness. And that could just change the world.
The Synchronicity Foundation has invited me to help with their social experiment, which will determine if there is a corresponding “Maharishi Effect” when a large number of people experience authentic happiness for a sustained period of time. You may remember how meditators were able to reduce crime rates. What might happy people do?
The campaign aims to enroll a million or more people across the country to sign the Happiness Pledge and begin “training” for a celebration day on July 4, 2014.
Please sign the Happiness Pledge here on this site; I did. Once you take the pledge you will receive their free e-booklet, Wake Up and Be Happy, plus regular emails with Happiness Tips from me and other partners. You will also be invited to participate in free teleconferences with presenters such as myself.
I’m excited about this Happiness campaign and I hope you will be too. It’s a wonderful, innovative project and I heartily agree with the basic premise: “Happy people don’t hurt each other.” Indeed! Happy people help each other.
When you join the Happiness campaign you will be notified of the date and time of my teleconference as well as teleconferences of others who are collaborating on this project. You will also immediately receive the FREE, 34 page, Wake Up and Be Happy e-booklet in PDF format. Click Here
