The gateway is the gateway from within the mind to beyond the mind. Actually, there are many gateways, the foremost of which is stillness.

The mind has two polarities. It is either noisy or it is quiet, full or empty, active in its thinking or still in its inactivity.

All of Life as the Diversity of One Unity

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-8-18-14

“Nirvana may be the final object of attainment, but at this moment it’s difficult to reach; thus, the practical and realistic aim is compassion, a warm heart serving other people, helping others, respecting others, and being a little less selfish.”
~Dalai Lama

I like this quotation from the Dalai Lama. It is typical of his brilliant expression in which he simplifies everything because he knows most people can’t relate to holistic philosophical principles. The quotation is about inclusion made practical.

Are you a fish looking for water?

Written by Master Charles Cannon

“The river longs to return to the ocean.”
--Zen saying

“The river longs to return to the ocean.”  What nonsense!  Why would the river long to return to the ocean?  From a truthful perspective, it makes no sense because the river is the ocean, and whether or not it is aware of itself makes no difference.

The Mother Archetype

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-7-12-14

“That which was before heaven and earth is Tao.  Tao is the mother of all things.”
~Tao Te Ching.

The Tao Te Ching is a very old revelation and yet you will find the Mother archetype in all cultures and traditions.  The Mother is an archetype in consciousness, a primordial image, a pattern of human evolutionary transformation and metamorphosis.

Human Beings … Information Processing Units

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-6-24-14

I have often said that human beings are information processing units, and this also applies to all forms of life — all forms of consciousness.

As instruments of consciousness, we are programmed to gather information through experience.  Furthermore, we are programmed to process our information and grow resultant developmental self-awareness in the process. One could say we are wired to look outside of ourselves and to be objective in our focus. Furthermore, until we evolve to a certain level of self-awareness, we are just robots (automatons of consciousness), acting out our programs and playing our software.

Radically Expand Holistic Awareness

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-6-7-14

Your robotic control center --  your ego --  doesn’t like to relinquish its control to holistic awareness. So, what does it do?  It distracts you.  It makes you fidget.  It makes you twitch in one way or another.  But if you can rise above your robotic-ness through the principle of balance, your ego will begin to yield to truthful experience.

The Secret to a Joyous and Blissful Life

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-5-22-14

It is most important for us to understand how life operates. This is often referred to as the “mechanics of consciousness.”    Let’s recall that consciousness (the substratum of all and everything) has one primary intention -- and that is to fully be itself through the experience of itself.  And it does that through all forms of itself in the relative field.  All experience is relative and all experience is valid – and that includes human beings.

Why Does War Exist?

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-1-sept-2-2014

You may not think of yourself as violent, but if there is no quiet in you, if there is no peace but rather a lot of noise, it can be said that there is violence inside of you.

It could be said that if we are violent within, we are at war.  In our own incessant noise, we are at war with ourselves, and the world around us is only a reflection -- a manifestation of what we are.  Since we are violent and at war within ourselves, it isn’t surprising that our world is full of violence and war.

The Measurement of Evolution

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-7-18-14

Awareness is the measure of evolution in individuated consciousness. We are here to evolve, to grow through the experience of being human and, through this, the measurement of our growth is our self-awareness.

The real question then is:  how aware are you?

Laugh at your Thoughts

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-7-333-14

“As soon as you have made a thought, laugh at it.” Lao Tzu

There is a whole philosophical system, a complete holistic model of reality contained in this quotation from a great master.  It simply says you are the creator of your experience and that includes all of your thoughts.  The world is as you see it, but your experience of it is filtered through your data … your beliefs and your thoughts.

Go With the Flow

Written by Master Charles Cannon

blog-6-6-14

A tree that is unbending is easily broken.
--Lao Tsu

Forms of consciousness that are rigid in their illusory dominance are unbending, exclusive, and easily broken.  They have no holistic awareness, no truthful perception of reality.  They are but robots, automatons.
