Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.

Written by Master Charles Cannon

“Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.”
Simone Weil

Most people are dominantly takers rather than givers.  We have many manipulative strategies for getting attention from others which we illusorily misinterpret as love.  Taking without giving then is imbalanced and fragmented experience.  The result is misery and suffering.

When we have evolved enough in wholeness… we discover that giving is the anecdote for balance and fulfillment.  To be a dominant giver is gateway to holistic experience which replaces suffering with celebration.  To be wakeful… still… and attentive… in relation to others… is indeed the purest form of giving.  It is a sublime generosity that delivers us to consistent holistic experience.

This week… let us endeavor to be more wakeful of giving rather than taking.  Let us cultivate attentiveness and be but a witnessing consciousness watching.  Such generosity will indeed deliver a more balanced, whole and fulfilling experience of life.
