Being preoccupied with our self-image...

Written by Master Charles Cannon

“Being preoccupied with our self-image is like coming upon a tree of singing birds while wearing earplugs.”
Pema Chodron

Preoccupation with self-image is egocentric experience.  It is based on the illusion of separation between subject and object.  It is exclusive dominant experience.  The result is imbalance and fragmentation in human consciousness.  Suffice it to say that it is a miserable experience.

If we are so mired in the exclusivity of ourselves… we forfeit the inclusive truth that all and everything is the same consciousness.  While the former is full of conflict and suffering… the latter is full of peace, love and bliss.  The wakeful choice then is a no-brainer.

This week… let us be more trans-egoically wakeful and inclusive in our experience.  Why not take out the earplugs and enjovvthe tree full of singing birds?  Why not simply include all that we encounter into the one blissful consciousness that is all?  Truth or illusion… the choice is always ours.
