“Every man is his own chief enemy.”
When we think of enemies… we have been enculturated to believe that they are objective to us. That they are other people who dislike us or are negative in relation to us or terrorize us in one way oranother. Enemies then are about others based on the illusion of separation.
But in truth… first and foremost… we are our own chief enemy. We terrorize ourselves with our thoughts, beliefs and stories about who we are and what life is. We really don’t need others to negate us… wefully do the job all by ourselves. It is our ego-driven fear-based and life-negative minds that do the job. For the most part… we are incessant in the negation of ourselves. In this understanding…eryone is a terrorist… a self-terrorist. And the result is suffering and limitation in our experience of life.
Rather… we must cultivate wakefulness in order to grab the reigns of the mind and direct it to truthful thoughts and beliefs about ourselves and our world. We must think life-affirmatively and with love asour basis. In this way we relinquish the enemy that we are to ourselves. We eliminate the primary terrorist and the experience of terrorism.
This week… let us increase our vigilance and be wakeful of our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves. Let us grab the reigns of our minds and direct our thinking to the truth that is always life-affirmativeand love-based. Let’s begin with ourselves and open to the experience of being the one blissful consciousness that we are… that all is.
