A regular guy from South Carolina just mowed the lawn at the Lincoln Memorial. He wasn’t paid to do it. He explained that he considered the building to be a “moral compass” and himself a steward of it.
This while elected representatives in their overpaid incompetence have allowed the government to shut down, suspending services like cutting the lawn that this volunteer took care of. It begs the question: who’s the real leader?
It’s been often said that America has always been better than its leaders. Obviously, there are exceptions to that generalization, but it holds true in many cases. What do career politicians excel at? Getting elected and obeying the wishes of those who finance their conquest.
This man demonstrated true leadership, which could be summed up very simply as “doing what needs to be done.” Imagine political leaders adopting that sort of attitude? They might actually get something done!
