“This ‘I and mine’ causes the whole misery.”
In truth… there is only one consciousness. It creates the relative field of all experience. Both relative polarities are the same consciousness… the experience of which is true reality. A witnessing consciousness simply watches itself as both subject and object… as unity and diversity.
The ego-driven mind creates the illusion of relative separation and difference. The subject then is experienced as separate and different from the object. All conflict is born of this illusory separation… and conflict results in suffering. This is fragmented rather than holistic experience.
Vivekananda is correct when he says that ‘I and Mine’ causes the whole misery… for he is speaking of this egoic illusion of separation and its resultant conflict and suffering.
This week… let us endeavor to focus our awareness on the truth of one consciousness. Let us be as wakeful as it is possible for us to be… in the awareness that both subject and object are the same consciousness. In truth… there is no separation and difference. As a subject… all objects that we encounter are the same consciousness. There is only one. Such holistic experience is peaceful and blissful. It is free of all conflict and suffering.
