If you are experiencing your presence you are aware that you are a form of life, a form of consciousness. You are then aware that everything that surrounds you—all and everything that is an object to you as a subject—is a form of consciousness. All the other people you encounter are forms of life just as you are a form of life. You are also aware of the inanimate—the ground underneath your feet, the seat upon which you sit, the whole of nature, all the objects that surround you in the room in which you find yourself now, as forms of consciousness. And all forms of consciousness are forms of life.
All forms of life, just like you, have presence. You are life surrounded by life. You are consciousness surrounded by consciousness. You are a fish in the ocean surrounded by water. You are blissful consciousness within blissful consciousness because there is only one. This is our unity, the unity of all life. We all share life. Life empowers us all. Without it we have nothing. With it we are unified and one. This focus, this wakeful practice, is part and parcel of the holistic lifestyle, a lifestyle that is focused on wholeness. Wholeness is all about oneness, the oneness of all life.
