Have you noticed that the world around you is becoming increasingly visually oriented in terms of the evolution of technology and how that is affecting your brain function?
In these times in which we live, we are seeing an interesting shift emerging from auditory (words, languages, their meanings and definitions) to visual (images). This visual perspective signals a more balanced emphasis because of its focus on the spaciousness of creation. This visual emphasis also informs us that a shift is occurring from the left brain to the right brain.
The computer screen is a visual medium. The iPad or iPhone in your hand is a visual medium. The television is a visual medium. This increasing emphasis on the visual means the polarized dominance of the human brain is shifting from left to right. In the history of wisdom traditions, this is represented as the return of the goddess (the divine feminine) or the return from patriarchy to matriarchy.
As polarized dominance shifts from the left brain to the right, there is a more natural emphasis on the spaces, the non-dominant polarity. Thus, more natural balance (and therefore more wakefulness) is being created in human experience. The times in which we live are becoming times of awakening and holistic experience.
As you explore this simple principle of relative reality — the principle of balance — you can begin to understand how it is operative in terms of your personal experience of reality. Whether you are fragmented or you are whole depends upon the relative balance or imbalance within your very own brain.
