“There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion.”
We live in a relative reality and all experience is relative. There are always two polarities to our experience… and we cannot have one without the other. One polarity can dominate… yet not eliminate… the other. Such is but natural law.
Francis Bacon is correct when he observes that even the most excellent beauty will be accompanied by some measure of ugliness. The positive can dominate yet not eliminate the negative… truth can dominate yet not eliminate illusion.
The more wakeful we are… the more we recognize our responsibility of choice within relative reality. Our choices determine the dominant polarity and the correspondent experience we create. By our choices… so we live.
This week… let us endeavor to be more wakeful of our relative choices. For example… choosing the non-dominant positive over the default negative… creates balance… wholeness and resultant fulfillment. The important question is who are we choosing to be?
