“We are no longer happy as soon as we wish to be happier.”
Walter Savage Landor
Happiness is the truthful nature of reality. It is intrinsic to life. To truthfully separate bliss from consciousness is impossible. It is like trying to take the wetness out of water. Happiness then is our very nature… and the nature of all and everything.
In this understanding… we can only pretend not to be happy. We can mentally project the illusion of unhappiness or limited happiness and obscure the abundant essential happiness that always is. In this way… we create ourselves illusorily as seekers of happiness.
Universal law states that what we seek we do not have and what we have we do not seek. If we illusorily seek happiness… we deny ourselves the experience of truthful innate happiness. The problem is thus illusory seeking… or believing what is not true.
This week… let us be more wakeful of our innate happiness. Let us be vigilant of our minds and our illusory thoughts, beliefs and stories with which we create a limited experience of life. Happiness is the nature of true reality. Beyond all our illusory definitions… it is the ‘what is’ of life happening as one blissful consciousness.
