govener omalleyKia Scherr and the OLA team from the Washington, DC area met with Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley to share the positive results of the OLA Pledge Program in Baltimore's Dubois High School. Governor O'Malley was very supportive and encouraged Kia to expand this program for the 2012/2013 school year.

In August she will conduct a professional development program for teachers to encourage them to use the pledge book in more of their classrooms. Governor O'Malley also personally invited Kia to join his South Asia Advisory Commission, which serves Maryland's large South Asian population.

Kia is presently in Mumbai to continue the OLA holistic education program and plan for this year's 26/11 Memorial event which will focus on the Celebration of Life.

More good news! OLA was chosen to work with a top of the line internet service company, Blue State Digital,, a full service media agency that works pro bono with a select group of non-profits each year.
