One Life Alliance India

In just a few short weeks, OLA India is fast-tracking peace education by not only partnering with several school systems in Mumbai, but by laying the foundation for long-term programs on a national level in India that will form a prototype for the USA and other countries around the world.

A Peace Education Research Committee will create a curriculum for Indian classrooms to be implemented in schools at all grade levels. In addition, OLA is partnering with IL&FS, a company that creates digital technology for education and will use the OLA pledge book content in their values-based, e-learning program for mass production.

The Muslim community has been especially responsive to the OLA message. Pictured here is the teacher who translated the Pledge book into Urdu, the commonly used language for Muslims in India. This translation has made it possible for the 30 Day Pledge program to be used in the Anjuman Islam school system. Also shown in this photo is OLA trustee, Dnyaneshwar Kamble, who has donated much time and effort to establish OLA in India.

Kia has been invited to speak at events in Mumbai, Pune and Ratnagiri. Some girls from the Anjuman Islam orphanage for girls in Pune, India are pictured here with Kia on Valentine's Day.
